5 Reasons Why OnePlus 6T Is Better Than The Google Pixel 3 XL

5 Reasons Why OnePlus 6T Is Better Than The Google Pixel 3 XL

OnePlus finally announced its latest flagship offering the OnePlus 6T. The new OnePlus 6T offers incremental updates over the OnePlus 6. OnePlus hasn’t left any room for complaint in terms of performance and the overall hardware on the smartphone is impressive for the price.

These are the five reasons why OnePlus 6T outperforms the much higher priced Google Pixel 3 and Google Pixel 3 XL.

OnePlus 6T: Better Notch Implementation

The first and most obvious difference between the OnePlus 6T and Pixel 2 XL is the notch implementation. OnePlus 6T features a water drop style notch design that consumes a very insignificant portion of the display. On the other hand, the weird notch on the Pixel 2 XL accompanied with a thick chin on the bottom is not at all visually appealing.

OnePlus 6T: In-Display Fingerprint Sensor

The next advanced feature that helps OnePlus 6T standout from the crowd is the In-Display fingerprint sensor. Hiding the fingerprint sensor under the display helps maintain consistency in the design aesthetics both on the front and rear side of the display. Well, Pixel 2 still relies on a physical fingerprint sensor.

OnePlus 6T: Performance

Performance is the major selling point of every OnePlus smartphone. The OnePlus 6T is no exception to that. This flagship-killer smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 845 processor and comes with a minimum of 6GB RAM and a maximum of 8GB RAM. On the other hand, the Pixel 2 XL only has 4GB RAM.

OnePlus 6T will offer better RAM management and it can cache a greater amount of apps. Consequently, everything from app launching times to smartphone animation will be more real to life on the OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 6T: More Storage

Google’s flagship smartphones i.e. the Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL are only available in 64GB and 128GB storage options. While the base variant of the OnePlus 6T comes with 128GB storage and the higher-end variant has much higher 256GB storage.

Well, if your prefer higher storage and store a majority of your data on a smartphone than OnePlus 6T is a better smartphone.

OnePlus 6T: Pricing

All of the above-mentioned features on the OnePlus 6T are available at a much cheaper price as compared to the Google Pixel 2 XL. The OnePlus 6T starts at $549 for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant which is nearly $400 less than the 128GB storage variant of the Pixel 2 XL.

OnePlus 6T outperforms the Pixel 2 XL in multiple aspects. That said, Pixel 2 XL still has a better camera and offers an OLED display rather than the AMOLED panel on the new OnePlus 6T.

OnePlus 6T: Waterdrop Notch

OnePlus 6T will inherit design aesthetics from its predecessor OnePlus 6. Infact, the physical dimensions and the dual camera layout will resemble the OnePlus 6. The major changes on the OnePlus 6T will be on the front side of the display. Well, we can expect the OnePlus 6T to feature a waterdrop notch.

This waterdrop notch will drastically improvise the screen to body ratio of the OnePlus 6T. Furthermore, waterdrop notch is a better implementation as compared to iPhone X styled notch.

OnePlus 6T: In-Glass Fingerprint Sensor

Though the concept of the in-glass fingerprint sensor isn’t new, OnePlus 6T might become the first Android smartphone with the in-glass fingerprint sensor that will reach masses. OnePlus will eliminate the physical fingerprint from the rear of the device to maintain consistency in design.

Most major premium smartphone manufacturers like Apple, Samsung, and Google haven’t introduced or used this interesting technology. Well, this security sensor is comparatively slower and inaccurate as compared to physical biometric sensors.

OnePlus 6T: Ditching The 3.5mm Headphone Jack

Well, OnePlus 6T is next in the line to ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack. Well, it’s not what majority of consumers want, but OnePlus 6T won’t come with this important port. OnePlus claims that ditching the 3.5 mm headphone jack will help the company to use the space for embedding modern technology in the smartphone.

Software updates are one of the significant disgraces to the Android Operating System. That said, companies like OnePlus may change the scenario shortly. A few months ago OnePlus announced that its 2016 flagship offerings, i.e. the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T will skip Android 8.0 (Oreo), but will directly receive an update to Android 9.0 Pie.

Well, this time around, OnePlus has officially started rolling out Android 9.0 Pie software update to OnePlus 6 users.

OnePlus 6T: A Flagship Without The Headphone Jack

In 2016, Apple introduced the concept of removing the 3.5mm headphone jack. Surprisingly, it didn’t even take a year for Android OEM’s to adopt Apple’s path and remove headphone jack from a majority of mid-range and flagship devices.

That said, a few companies like Samsung and OnePlus took advantage and begin advertising the existence of 3.5mm headphone jack as an important feature.

This time around, OnePlus will also ditch the 3.5mm headphone jack from the OnePlus 6T.  You might remember, that a few months ago OnePlus introduced the Bullets Wireless earphones, these earphones sold more than the companies expectation.

In an interview with TechRadar, OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei said a lot of factors were considered before making this decision.

“We found 59% of our community already owned wireless headphones earlier this year – and that was before we launched our Bullets Wireless headphones.” Furthermore, Carl Pei also stated that removing the headphone jack will free up space and the company could offer new technology on the device.

Consequently, removal of headphone jack will benefit users in one or the other way. We can expect OnePlus 6T to offer an improved battery life and an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Overall, these are one of the best Type-C earphones and are priced at Rs.1490 or roughly $20 USD.

OnePlus 7: Wireless Charging

Despite the fact that the OnePlus 6 was entirely constructed of metal and glass, it didn’t support wireless charging. Well, we may expect OnePlus 7 to support wireless charging.  Wireless charging coupled with OnePlus Dash charge will ensure that you won’t have any issue with the smartphone in terms of overall battery life. OnePlus 15th January Teaser: What To Expect

OnePlus hasn’t provided any clue as to what it is planning to launch on 15th January. A few months ago the company’s CEO Pete Lau has confirmed that OnePlus will launch a 5G compatible smartphone next year, which clearly points towards OnePlus 7. Well, what contradicts the launch of OnePlus 7 is the launch pattern of the predecessors.

According to the old pattern, OnePlus launches the ‘T’ variant in the month of November. Consequently, launching a new smartphone after two months won’t make any sense. Well, we can conceive that OnePlus might ditch the OnePlus 6T and straight away launch the OnePlus 7.

Lastly, in the worst situations, 15th January might just end up being an announcement day for the new technology and smartphones that OnePlus will launch in the coming years.

OnePlus 6T

Here’s everything you need to know about OnePlus 6T

Over the past few years, the word ‘OnePlus’ has become synonymous with the word “flagship killer”. The Chinese mobile manufacturer keeps improvising with every new smartphone that keeps OnePlus at the cutting edge of mobile design.

OnePlus follows a half-yearly cycle for launching smartphones. With OnePlus already releasing OnePlus 6 in May earlier this year, we can expect the company’s next-generation flagship, OnePlus 6T to be tentatively released in October this year.

OnePlus 6T: Expected Specifications And Features

A general trend from the predecessors suggests that the ‘T’ variant offers incremental upgrade over the previous OnePlus device of that year. The ‘T’ variant can be considered as the upgraded version that offers better internals, slightly improved camera performance, and few changes in the design ergonomics of the smartphone.

Display and Processor

OnePlus 6T may feature a glass front and rear with aluminium frame and could likely be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor.

Storage

OnePlus 6T may come with a choice of 6GB or 8GB of RAM and around 256GB of storage. Besides this, OnePlus might introduce a 512GB storage variant of the OnePlus 6T similar to the Galaxy Note 9, suggests reliable sources.

Wireless Charging

If OnePlus doesn’t reserve wireless charging for the OnePlus 7, we can expect OnePlus 6T to offer wireless charging. We all know that dash charging offers the fastest charging speeds. However, this might change with the Voco flash charging that will be integrated with the new OnePlus devices.

OnePlus 6T: Major Improvements

OnePlus confirmed that OnePlus 6T will be the first OnePlus device to feature an in-glass fingerprint sensor. The technology by no means is new to the market, but will definitely reach out to masses for the first time. It could also feature a 3D dual-lens camera.

Next major improvement may be in the notch department. OnePlus 6T might feature a water drop style notch, the one similar to Essential Phone. This will help OnePlus to offer one of the best screen-to-body ratio in the market.

Other Features

OnePlus may adopt the exceptionally pleasing color scheme of Huawei smartphones for the new OnePlus 6T. Also, OnePlus 6T might be the first OnePlus device to get IPS68 water and dust resistant ratings.

Pricing

We may see OnePlus keep its pricing low for the OnePlus 6T variant so as to compete with the high-end flagships of the competition.

The idea of offering the best flagship internals may not work for OnePlus anymore. The Shenzhen-based manufacturer may have to offer additional features so as to justify the $500 price tag that it may come with.
