With memory chips getting more efficient and powerful, Samsung is leading from the front with the announcement of its 10nm 6GB LPDDR4 RAM. Manufactured on the 10nm architecture, these DRAM memory chips are going to boast better efficiency and are going to be powering up the next wave of smartphones and other tablets.

Most smartphones like ZUK Z2 already feature 6GB of RAM, and there are rumors that the most powerful OnePlus 3 model is also going to feature 6GB of RAM. However, being manufactured on the 10nm architecture is a whole new story altogether. The more RAM that is present inside a mobile device or even a computer, the more power it is going to consume, which will ultimately be one of the reasons why you cannot run your phone for a longer period of time.

10nm 6GB LPDDR4 DRAM chips mean that not only will your phone have more RAM than a laptop, you will be able to perform a slew of multitasking options on your phone that you could not do before, and its improved architecture will also mean that the battery life is going to be conserved even further. The timing of announcing such DRAM chips from Samsung should not be surprising at all.

According to The Next Rex, Galaxy Note 6 could feature this 10nm DRAM chip and it will also have a 5.8-inch screen and a 4,000mAh battery, which should suffice for lasting your phone for an entire day. Samsung’s CEO for its semiconductor and display business, Mr. Choi said that:

“In the ever-changing mobile market, innovation is to promote the sustainable development of the same power. Samsung will through continuous technological innovation, to maintain differentiated products and services, leading China Mobile market growth and leap.”

Thanks to its energy efficient properties, we could also see more phones, particularly Chinese companies carrying 6GB RAM inside them.
