Samsung has been developing a smartphone with a foldable display for a while now. Though the company hasn’t unveiled a final product yet. Well, a Chinese brand Royole has announced the world’s first foldable smartphone FlexPai. The company has come up with a fully functional smartphone that has a foldable 7.8-inch AMOLED display.
So here’s everything you need to know about the FlexPai smartphone.
The major highlight of the FlexPai is the 7.8-inch display that can be converted to a more compact 4-inch display. In addition to that, the aspect ratio on the FlexPai can be adjusted to 4:3, 16:9, and 18:9. The company claims that the hinge is rated to being folded 200,000 times.
FlexPai is also the world’s first smartphone to be powered by the 7nm Snapdragon 8150 processor. FlexPai comes in 6GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB, and 8GB/512GB RAM and storage options. Royole has also introduced its native Ro-Charge fast charging, that the company claims charges your phone from 0% to 80% in an hour.
As for the camera, this smartphone packs a dual camera setup. This setup includes a primary 16MP sensor and a secondary telephoto lens has a 20MP sensor. The dual camera setup on the front of this smartphone doubles up as the rear camera once the device is folded.
This smartphone run’s on a custom Water OS that is based on Android 9.0 Pie. The custom skin is very well optimized to take full advantage of the foldable display.
FlexPai is one of the biggest technological leaps in the smartphone industry that sports a flexible display and is powered by the most powerful Snapdragon 8510 processor. This premium and technologically advanced smartphone is priced for CNY 9,000 or roughly $1,300.
